Detroit Songwriter, Apropos is Timely with Nostalgic All Natural
Evan Dale // Nov 29, 2018
In a cultural era where the aesthetics of beauty are defined most by Instagram filters, Photoshop fiends, and Lightroom wizards, it’s hard to know which styles du jour will survive into the future. But, if one thing is certain, natural beauty and a firm concentration of real confidence will always be Apropos. Fittingly enough, Apropos, an underground Detroit songwriter whose music is likewise fitting across a swatch of situational applications, exudes circularity in his name, his musicality, and his thematic ideologies.
Apropos isn’t only his name, but seemingly his game. His newest single release, All Natural, akin to debut album, (Verse)atility belongs in a similar section of the thesaurus alongside the rest of his overarching character where name and meaning work in harmony to develop deeper pushings of thought.
Apropos is apropos.
(Verse)atility is versatile.
All Natural dissects the versatility of the organic aesthetic and celebrates its existence as being permanently apropos.
But the props go beyond his ability to be well thought-out and into the music itself. All Natural is a jam that explores a series of R&B nuances and brings with it, an undeniably nostalgic energy, not only for the times before Instagram and Photoshop, but the times where relatable, bouncy R&B ran music.
