Our favorite love children of the anthemic neo-soul ballad, Otis Junior & Dr. Dundiff have crafted some of the most uniquely driven, truly listenable music of the burgeoning vocalist / producer duo movement. 2017’s Hemispheres album continues to highlight playlists and delineate neo-soul’s broader movements while the jazz and funk inspirations of their collective direction continue to expand indefinability on a broader scale.

 

Now on a march towards December albumhood, they’ve released the premiere single of their first project in a year-and-a-half, and damn are we happy to have them back.

 

Need to Know which comes coupled with a video of light-hearted do-badedness, is a gem the likes of which we’ve come to expect from the talented duo. Warm, groovy, and undeniably addicting, the bouncy joint exhibits in equal measure the emotionally-evoking positivity of Otis Junior’s vocals and the compositional genius of Dr. Dundiff.

 

As one of the most exciting young acts in neo-soul, R&B, and music in general, we’re looking forward to this new ride.
