In what is quickly becoming one of the most intriguing collaborative efforts of the year, dreamwave architect, Shagabond and vocalist of all things sexy, sultry, and dare we say, steamy, Noah, are on a mission to give the world the cleanest, most pristine new-wave R&B of 2018. It all started in 2016 with the duo’s combined effort on the elementally sensual Kodaks. But in the time since and starting with the rollout of three concurrent dim-light anthems, their collaborative direction has taken a firm stance towards the uniquely fluid. Arouse, Genuine, and now Steam have begun delineating the emergent spectrum of their take on modern R&B, and they may just be doing better than anyone else right now.

 

Steam, akin to the prior two releases, embodies its name full-stop, seeing Noah in particular tackle his surprisingly wide range on the track’s electrifying hook. Chorus aside, Steam is another worthy example of Noah’s knack for sexy songwriting, Shagabond’s scientific mastery of clean and silky production, and both artists’ ability to work together as one of the most exciting young producer-vocalist duos in music.
