Toronto's Shagabond & Noah Connect for Sensual, Aptly-Titled Arouse

I don’t usually like to lead with this but, I’m aroused. And I think that’s the point. Arouse is a new offering from collaborators, friends, family, Shagabond and Noah, who hit the nail on the head with the track titling. A silky smooth, funk-womp and vocal-layered production which all but dissolves completely into just its foundational necessities by the track’s end is met with Noah’s unnaturally soothing delivery and perfectly sensual lyricism, grabbing center stage from the minimalist beat.

The two have the chemistry needed for such an undertaking, and have succeeded in past collaborations, but with Arouse, they unearth something even deeper – almost a brutally suave follow-up of sorts to 2016’s Kodaks. It’s undeniably a grass-roots R&B baby-maker, but Shagabond’s modern production hitches to it a uniquely fun and bubbly texture, leaving it a more bare-bones track possessing only the most elemental of slow jam constituents.

Whether you’re a fan of R&B, modern low-key electronica, or simply lust and steam, Arouse is exactly what you think it is like you’ve never heard it before.
