Our favorite painter of the subtle soundwave and the calming canvas hails from Paris. Lossapardo never misses a step and of his audience are fortunate to be guided through the creative embodiment of his mellow mind. Lately, that stroll has brought us to a point of three new tracks from the talented artist, whose mindful acrylics adorn and perfectly coalesce the visual space of each. tranquille, En attendant, and Simple things vocalized by Lossapardo’s fellow buttery Parisian, malia LYNN, comprise Paintings. Like the project as a whole, the track titles are perfectly orchestrated. 

 

Lossapardo’s composition is not for the high strung, but rather those who lie (or wish to lie) on the opposite end of the spectrum. Rising in energy from beginning to end, Paintings never takes it above a 4, keeping the mood in a sleepy, relaxed state of being. tranquille, a downtrodden guitar solo piece opens the project in the mellow space of a morning awoke from personal tragedy. In a much-needed emotional shift, En attendant gets our mind off that tragedy and onto something more wide-ranging both emotionally and musically. Lastly, malia LYNN brings with Simple things the positivist and heartwarming vibes that her incomparable talent and innate ability to harmonize with the low-key production of Lossapardo always provide.

 

What may seem to be lost in modern complexity is in fact gained in modern, genius simplicity, and that philosophy is on full display throughout Paintings as it is throughout all of Lossapardo’s canon.
