Compton transcendentalist, Buddy cannot be stopped. Few could pull together such barrage of stylistic influence, but Buddy – a master of all three and many, many more – is right at home in the audacity of it all. At varying points, he is rapping, singing, sampling, and ultimately delivering his higher discourse. Held together by the glue of his one-of-a-kind sound, the track finds its level ground in its unpredictability, its fluidity. 

 

Just like Harlan & Alondra, his late Summer project that’s soundtracked the seasonal heat, Add It Up is an exploration of Buddy’s ever-expanding sonic texture, built upon an emerging collection of influences and brash experimentation that together grant maturity and inventiveness to his music.
