En route to her debut project, Love in Progress, neo-soul / R&B songstress, WAYI is exploring the absurd range of her vocalism and positive, romantic breadth with Insecure. At the beginnings of what seems like is going to be a vibrant and explosive career, the young vocalist whose roots run deep in church gospel choirs and influence from Alicia Keys, is proving herself far more mature than her limited cannon would allude to. It’s hard to draw comparisons to her unique vocal delivery without mentioning some of the brightest stars to ever shine in Motown, soul, R&B, and pop music in general. But, with respect to her as an individual, it’s better off simply saying that one day she’ll probably find herself in the company of those she’s influenced by most.
