Clear Mortifee Indundates with Jazz in Instrumentally-Driven Single

Clear Mortifee - Prophecy of the Morning

Once Claire Mortifee, now made Clear by the sonic silk of her own artistic growth, Clear Mortifee delivers jazz-driven neo-soul track, Prophecy of the Morning Dew. In many ways reminiscent of her prior work under a prior moniker – vocally transcendent, vibrantly experimental – where Prophecy of the Morning Dew really reminds is in the work Poppy Ajudha – the UK jazz soulstress redefining what jazz and soul can mean to a more global audience.

Clear’s take on the jazzy, unendingly courageous lane to deliver jazz vocalism to a more mainstream light is audacious but stepping away from what was a more poppy R&B canon enveloping Claire Mortifee, her slight reinvention is exciting and vibrant to say the least. Prophecy of the Morning Dewfolds into frame what we always knew to be possible with her deep pool of talent – vocal exuberance and risk-taking nature – with a more instrumentally-forward, poetic, and emergently timeless foundation.
