With his third concurrent single of 2019, R&B experimentalist bLAck pARty delivers his third nonconcurrent vibe, Home. Instrumentally forward and strewn with beautiful vocal bouts, it does have its similarities, but backed by Zoe & Machelle Y with warm deliveries and experimental composition, Home feels like the most Mango-reminiscent track the Arkansas-turned-LA man of mystery has delivered since his debut album in 2016. It’s beachy in its overarching texture and youthful, delineating memories and experiences of times come and gone and the undeniable desire for a return home if not a full-stop return to the past that grants it a reminiscent and seasonably-apt aesthetic.

With tidings to bLAck pARty’s other 2019 singles, 4AM in NY No Complaints, it would seem his effort to remained largely indefinable and always taking risks remains the driving force in his artistry, making him one of the more important underground forces of R&B and neo-soul at large.
