Brasstracks Deliver Ultimate Team Effort w/ New Project Before We Go
Evan Dale // Feb 28, 2019
Influential analogue-meets-digital production duo, Brasstracks, who have made a career fusing their electro-funk / jazz composition with the worlds of hip-hop and R&B, have released their third career EP, Before We Go. A seven-track, upbeat modern team masterpiece, the project which revolves around the grey areas of funk experimentation and its sonic influence on all modern music, is the most enjoyable and sunshiny 20-minutes of 2019 so far. Featuring a fervent list of guest artists, some internationally famous – Grace & R.LUM.R – some lesser in their fame but equal in their rich and diverse artistic talent – Pell, Anthony Flammia, & Charles Gains – Before We Go, like all of Brasstracks’ career work, is really a collaborative effort highlighting the vocalists and songwriters that the group find particularly influential and fitting of their electro-funk foundations.
True embracers of an era of post-genrification, Brasstracks bring together all the kinds of music that are currently fusing at the highest heights of popularity and artistic boldness worldwide, and they do it by enticing artists to join them and their influential and timeless symphonic organization. Able to shift and adjust artist by featuring artist, each track feels form-fitting of their guest star’s talent, but all come together to hold true to an auditory aesthetic truly theirs. And Before We Go comes together as their best project to date.
