Approachable Members of Your Local Community Deliver Positivist Only Friend

It would be uncomfortable and strange if Aussie bubble indie collective, Approachable Members of Your Local Community were anything other than defined by their (ludicrously) long title. Thankfully, they’re anything but uncomfortable while still retaining the strange bit in a warm and welcoming dose. The band, who we’ll henceforth refer to as the band, has been on a torrent through the Australian soundwaves earning spots 13 and 15 on Spotify Australia’s Viral 50with their last two singles.
And by the sounds of their most recent release, Only Friend, they’re due for another climb up the sonic ladder down under. Beyond that, they’re also on their way to prominence in an international indie pop scene in eager search for the next big thing. Only Friend, which is hard to listen to without reminiscing on the positivist energy of Passion Pit’s Manners and the auditory aesthetic of Matt & Kim’s Grand, could be just the next spark they need to ignite a global community flame.
Happy, bouncy, and even whistly, Only Friend is a fantastically cheerful duet that helps to bring a little sunshine to anyone’s day. An anthem for autumn picnics in the park and sweet summer love, Only Friend is only the latest from the band whose sole misstep is having too long a name.
