Memphis Duo Mulherin Have Nothing to Apologize for with New Single, ‘Your Turn’
Evan Dale // March 12, 2021
Twin brothers Marshall & Parker are Mulherin. Mulherin craft silky, duetic R&B beckoning towards the sensual pop sensitivities of the 90’s that bloom expectedly of heart and heartbreak. And from the oft-illusive duo comes their first single of the year, and first single since 2020 EP, Blurry – Your Turn. The piano-laded, drum machine, electronically nuanced beat lays a perfect foundation for a cooling barrage of vocalism. And with the two often layering their two vocal tracks, an emotional mosaic calling for an apology from a loved one – or a lust one – leaves the single in the kind of ambiguously thematic yet emotionally focused space that so much of their approachable R&B falls in.
With the recent uptick in releases dating back to last year, hopefully the two are working towards yet another collection, because their unique take on the effervescent, atmospheric R&B of the moment is a necessary addition to any playlist angled towards love and lust.
