Still Woozy's First Release of 2019 is a Warm Weather Love Anthem
Evan Dale // April 10, 2019
Still Woozy’s glow-up has been one of the most noticeable and transformative in mellow pop, allowing him to exit the realm of the SoundCloud scene and enter where those who share a similar aesthetic and stylistic direction – Gus Dapperton, Nick Murphy, Tame Impala – have moved onto performing buzzing shows on the international festival circuit. With one of the more uniquely inviting and simultaneously inventively bedroom pop sounds in modern music, it’s no surprise that his polished texture has emerged in such a way. Still lacking any sort of debut project, only dabbling in single releases over the course of two years, the explosion is still somewhat remarkable until you hear his music.
With his first of those singles since last December’s Habit, Still Woozy delivers Lava, an expectedly synth-driven, bubbly springtime love song that fits the vibe of sunshiny days in the park spent playing frisbee with friends.
Keep an eye out for the artists whose debut project (possibly album) are expected out at some point this year, and whose aesthetic would find itself most comfortable amidst the throws of the warmer months.
