It’s difficult to put Murkage Dave into any sort of box not broadly labeled poet. Maybe it’s his lyrical prowess in a time largely undefined by lyricism, maybe it’s his ability to story tell with the best of them, or maybe it’s the fact that penmanship is the consistent driving force across the broad spectrum of his music. Whatever it is, poet is what he seems to be at his roots, and Magic Mission Deja Rinse is further validity for the argument.

The Brit’s latest offering is eccentric in the expected ways: uniquely mellow production bubbling over with garage high-hats, a downtrodden sort of thematic exploration, and a lyrical explosion. But what it boasts in its ability to be signature Murkage, it equals in its form to surprise as a complicatedly emotional track and fresh new take on his ever-shifting direction.

Looking forward to more from Murkage Dave who continues his unique inroad to the heart of UK futurism.
