Just Adam - JAPAN.png

Just Adam should be on everyone’s radar as we dive into 2019. The Chicago lyricist is both profound and prolific – a rare combination for any rapper, and that alone should be reason to at least follow him on social and be constantly inundated with new quality tunes. But if it’s not, here’s another reason: JAPAN, his first release of the year, and proof that he is grossly underrated on a number of scales. Lyrically, he’s a poet who not only pulls together a vocabulary and an ability to paint vibrant soundscapes, but does so effortlessly, seemingly most comfortable when his brain and his tongue are running full speed. Productively, he’s well-connected with a number of collaborative composers that know exactly how to create for a frontman with so much to say, and so calm and collected in saying it.

It seems, at least by its sole release on SoundCloud, that JAPANis a simple toss-away track for Just Adam and his close followers. But something about that feels altogether ridiculous because frankly, JAPAN is one of the best tracks we’ve heard from him. To be noted, that doesn’t come lightly – we’ve praised him in the past and by the sounds of things, we’ll praise his future, too.
