Headie One, AJ Tracey & Stormzy Team Up for 'Ain't It Different'

From the UK with loads of high-fidelity sampling, comes a FRED beat fit for three of the scene’s most explosive superstars. Headie One’s Ain’t It Different which also folds in featuring verses from Stormzy and AJ Tracey, is a super collaboration of size and stature that all three involved with have become staples of. In fact, since his rise from 2019 breakout anthem, 18HUNNA which featured fellow top-tier UK name, Dave, Headie One has racked up, amongst others, collaborative efforts with Skepta, NAV, FKA Twigs, Jamie xx, Sampha, and just recently Drake. Like those joint tracks, Headie One hammers home his signature sound, while still leaving plenty of space for his contemporaries to shine.
He, AJ Tracey, and Stormzy have independently developed complimentary cadence runs that make for a fluid collaboration to say the least. Brimming with the kind of hard-hitting punchlines and one-liners that the UK scene does best, the track also sees all three artists step lightly out of their respective comfort zones with production that sees sampling taken from both The Red Hot Chili Peppers and M-Dubs.
The result is an unexpected aesthetic that still sees three of the UK’s brightest names not only doing their thing, but doing it together. And with a visual inclusion released in unison, an even brighter image of talent and successful risks taken comes into focus.
