On the heels of a sizeable North American Autumn tour, trio of all things funk and groove, Exmag are here with an expectedly bouncy A-Side / B-Side cut, Glimpses of a Vision. Always known for a particular wave of dance-evoking psychedelia, Exmag seamlessly live up to their established sonics, but succeed even further in displaying some wide range in their aesthetic with two tracks that juxtaposition one another in a collection of directions.

Amável opens the project as an instrumental funk force with a punchy bassline and a barrage of violently mood-setting synths, while still remaining the more low-key and downtempo of the two. And that’s because its counterpart, In This featuring a smooth vocal delivery from New Jersey-based soul songwriter, Ehiorobo, is a modern take on the kind of funk anthems that, hand in hand with cocaine, drove the madness of 80’s house parties. In This even comes coupled with a video exhibiting just that very vibe.

Together, Glimpses of a Vision which comes via the geniuses at Majestic Casual is a stellar microcosm of the continuance of Exmag’s illustrious sound and their seamless approach with vocalist counterparts.
