Chicago's elton is Experimentally Bizarre, Lyrically Sharp with LUCID

Chicago, Chicago, Chicago.
Lyricism, Poetry, Individuality.
The city has had a year, like it usually does, that has involved an unparalleled cut of lyrically-gifted artists releasing music at rates unmatched by geographical subsets who put forth zero effort into their penmanship. A new school of Chicago youth seem to have pulled themselves from the floorboards and made even a further push to cement the city as the conscious and lyrical goldmine of hip-hop’s modern endeavors. And that year isn’t over yet.
One of those particular young rappers who boasts both a knack for his verbiage and more importantly a knack for how it is that he utilizes it, has brought into the calendar year one last piece of musical intrigue. Elton’s LUCID definitely lives up to its name. An unnerving, trippy beat by way of fellow Chicago youth star, Phoelix sets the stage for Elton to craftily navigate and adjust his technique without missing a step.
The result is undoubtedly left-of-center, but for fans of experimental production and keen songsmanship, LUCID is a damn good dream.
