Fresh on the heels of a collaborative project with Disclosure and slowthai, Portland’s Aminé continues his tear of 2020 hits with Compensating. The bubbly single which also pulls in the always unique aesthetic of Young Thug is a Summertime change of pace for the oft intensive rapper. This time opting for the more melodic, pop-adjacent route, Aminé has no trouble proving his versatility.

Compensating rides a tropical, warm weather beat, allowing Aminé to experiment with some rare vocalism on the hook and explode into his still emerging mastery of rap in verse. The result is a grey area delivery for Aminé which, standing next to that of Young Thug’s, results in an experimental, unique jam primed for anthemic Summertime positioning from pool parties to top-down drives down the freeway.
