The pace at which the UK has started off 2019 – the rate at which Mahalia and Kojey Radical as spiritual, creative, and generational leaders of myriad burgeoning British artistic youth movements have continued to create – goes unparalleled. Amongst a smattering of first-week releases revolving around London – another of which already includes Kojey (the video for Coming Home) and amongst the constant and widening stream from both artists over the past 18 months come the second set of visuals – this time as a part of the growing vertical trend – for the pair’s collaborative anthem, One Night Only. 

 

The track first appeared as opener for Mahalia’s September release of Seasons, showed up again in November for the professional cut of the video, and returns again now in another two-month increment for this installment. But we’re not tiring of it yet. Simplicity is the name of the game with these vertical editions, and simplicity – in a form still as creatively indulgent as is to be expected from the duo – is exactly what we got. 

 

Posted up on the hood of a car in front of an apartment building sporting extravagant and bold getups, the two effortlessly string together another intriguing and creatively differing addition to the pair’s growing spectrum.
