Elhae & Masego have the Keys to Springtime R&B with New Single, 'My City'

Elhae & Masego, representing Georgie and somewhere on Mars, respectively, have the keys to My City. The collaborative single is one that puts on an exhibition of just how insanely talented and wide-ranging today’s indefinable R&B and hip-hop grey areas really are. Opening silkily with an expectedly sultry and smooth chorus highlighting Masego’s off-kilter register, and quickly diving into one, and then another sex and lifestyle ridden verse from Elhae himself, the single emerges as the kind of Spring into Summertime anthem to soundtrack warm weather and sun soaked drives with the crew or the Bonnie to your Clyde.

The emerging Prince of Georgia R&B and beyond has been on a bit of a tear lately. With a slew of singles including the Rick Ross assisted Fun Fact and its subsequent ballad version, alongside also new single, Seperated, and a few videos in the mix, he’s slated to release his debut Motown collection later this year.

Here are his own words on how the collaboration came to fruition:

“I called Masego on FaceTime one day asking if he wanted to be a part of this next project. We’ve always talked about working but never got a chance to really make it happen due to scheduling and what not.” Elhae says. “Fortunately, and unfortunately due to COVID, time was all we had. Masego had the beat and the hook done already so it was up to me to provide the rest. I reached out to my good friend Ari to help as well and it was done. I’m really happy with how this song came out and I hope people enjoy it.”
