Chattanooga Vendetta' YGTUT & his City are Out for Blood with '
Evan Dale // April 14, 2020
Chattanooga hip-hop phenom, YGTUT – a leader of the scene that has quietly but assuredly been becoming one of the most experimentally diverse and key to the Southern soundscape – has been releasing a scattered smattering of singles since his early 2019 project, I.O.U. Each of his tracks, from mastered studio singles to quick Souncloud releases, exist in a different realm of YGTUT’s wide-ranging, lyrically self-reflective style. Through his most recent, he's building towards something larger in the works of the same expansive, introspective cloth.
With Chattanooga Vendetta – his latest – YGTUT ups the pace, putting on a lyrical exhibition as anthemic for his city as it is representative of his local scene’s abrupt, anchored attitude. As he says, 'my city don't get too much recognition,' but thanks to artists like him, Isaiah Rashad, and BbyMutha, the hard work is paying off. More to come soon.
