YBN Cordae & Anderson .Paak Take it Old-School with RNP Visuals

YBN Cordae & Anderson .Paak are to thank for two of the year’s most influential and unique albums. Anderson .Paak’s soul-ridden Ventura is nothing short of a modern Motown masterpiece and even pulls into the fold the silky soul of Smokey Robinson. YBN Cordae’s The Lost Boy is his junior thesis as one of the more lyrically-adept hip-hop up-and-comers to a younger generation leading cult-like followings for Gen-Z’s rap culture. And yet, even despite the broad stylistic and generational gap separating the two, they make excellent, humor-ridden, funky hip-hop together on RNP. Taken from Cordae’s The Lost Boy, the track can now also call home to a video.
And what a video it is. Taking place in 1975 New York with ‘Big Play’ Cordae and ‘Sweet Shot’ Anderson playing their roles as both NBA-Street-esque ballers and fur-laden, afro-picked ballers off the court, the two guaranteed hip-hop hall-of-famers groove their way through an intricate double storyline worthy pf the funk and soul of RNP. Heavy consideration for video of the year thus far.
