theMIND has been enticing fans of beautiful vocals, tidy production, and heartfelt lyricism for the last couple years and caught his stride with his debut project Summer Camp, in 2016. The Chicago artist’s feature on friend and collaborator, Smino’s 2017 album, blckswn, certainly propelled him further, but in its wake he has remained relatively quiet.

 

His first solo release since Summer Camp came earlier this month and it’s a doozy. EW2RTW (that’s: Everybody Wants to Rule the World) is a bit slower and more intrinsic than most of his work, but we like to the direction and applaud the emotional reach of the track. Above all, we just hope this is a sign of more music on the horizon because though the current music scene has plenty of heart, we think it could use a little more of theMIND.
