SiR Drops Melancholy Vibes for Chasing Summer Standout, New Sky

There’s always been something romantically extravagant but simultaneously emotionally melancholy about the silky styling of Inglewood California and TDE soul child, SiR. His recent album, Chasing Summer has been one of the most inventive and unique R&B / Neo-Soul projects of the year, and now one of the project’s most undeniable standouts, New Sky also has a set of sunshiny visuals.

Well, sort of.

The video, at times flooded with beaches, women, and sunset, glitches in and out of the falsity of a green screen where the set is really taking place. And in that identity also exists SiR’s permanently underlying emotional expanse.

I thought I was gone now, on the run now, trying to find a happier me. But flying away didn’t fix a thing.

Per the track’s penmanship, it’s visuals also explore SiR’s struggles with balancing fame and relationships; balancing fame and reality. And that’s what makes it so intriguing and down-to-earth.

Kadhja Bonet – New Sky’s featuring soulstress – steals the spotlight of the video’s latter half with her appearance.
