Night Lovell is Expectedly Dark and Devilish with new Single, BAD KID

It’s always a sunny day when Night Lovell crawls out of the underworld to hit us with another dark hip-hop anthem. BAD KID (which could not have had a better namesake) is grimy, volatile, and gothically brutal. And that’s why we love it. Featuring his signature meditated cadence, BAD KID is the first single we’ve gotten from the Canadian rapper since last year’s Joan of Arc, but he doesn’t seem to have lost a step in inventing and innovating within the low-fidelity, high-angst corner of the modern hip-hop realm. Long one of the heroes of the modern hip-hop underground, Lovell has seen his influence on the game and subsequently his own rise steadily increase over the past couple years, even though his last album was 2016’s Red Teenage Melody. Perhaps BAD KID is a sign of more to come, but at the very least is here to soundtrack our most vice-fueled, introspective nights.
