Aptly named Mellow Fellow, the lovable hero of the DIY circuit is starting of 2019 with an uplifting ballad of love. Yours Alone finds itself in balance between a muted guitar and the smooth butter of Mellow Fellow’s vocal approach, at times pushing forth one or the other, but more often than not, having the two work in collective harmony as a single voice. It’s an understatedly complex work, displaying his wide-ranging instrumental ability, and peaking in its resolve as a sleepy, relaxed, dare we say mellow jam adding once more to the burgeoning bedroom pop canon.
