MANTRABLU Channels Dreamwave for Mellow Masterpiece, roseheart
Evan Dale // Sep 17, 2018
No matter one’s taste in music; no matter one’s state in life, there are moments, seasons even where the mellow tradition in composition is not an acquired taste, but rather one required. In an early 2010’s electronic scene where mellowists took the wheel and delivered the dreamwave direction driven by a balance between downtempo keys and the up-tempo ambient, that tranquil tradition found its most modern of homes. Though its dominance in international electronica has somewhat subsided in recent years, its emotional impact is as necessary as ever.
So, when blessed with a proper composition from a masterful producer, the instant mental relaxation is as cleansing as it is reminiscent. Today, the artist to thank for lowered blood pressure and a composed emotional state is MANTRABLU. The New Yorker delivers roseheart which boasts a texture soothing and spiritual.
A foundation of soft-stroked keys, soft-spoken vocal samplings, and delicate cymbals occasionally gives way to inviting chimes. As the track builds and further elements are seamlessly introduced and stripped, the sway-inducing track finds its listener not only entranced but lifted to a place of positivity and reflection. By the time roseheart finds its pinnacle moments of energy and subsequently culmination, there is only peace.
More music like this will make the world a better place.
