Mahalia Recruits Pink Sweat$ for Remix of Relatable Isolation Hit, 'BRB'
Evan Dale // July 31, 2020
The UK’a Mahalia is hands down one of the most influential neo-soul, R&B, and pop artists on the youthful scene today. Per those stylistic lanes, she has a knack for folding in other unique cosigns on duets and on remixes of her original cuts. Leven Kali, Burna Boy, Ella Mai, and Lucky Daye, to name a few. Newest to join her canon is Pink Sweat$ who hops on lonely anthem taken from quarantine EP, Isolation Tapes: BRB. The original cut breathed of the energy and emotion of the moment, telling a tale of one day seeing a loved one once the idea of seeing just about anyone becomes a possibility again. And speaking to that same moment – which we still find ourselves in – the irreplicable Pink Sweat$ premieres his own verse on the single, and completely rearranges its once isolated dynamic.
BRB (the remix) is a tale of coming together for love regardless of the obstacles, and who two better artist to bring it to life than the ever-emotive registers of Mahalia and Pink Sweat$.
