As the UK continues a push towards creative dominance across the music sphere, a plethora of new tracks, projects, artists, and styles keep squeezing their way out of the floorboards and into the global limelight. It seems that every day we’re blessed with a new London artist creating music we never knew we so desperately wanted, and all of it seems to be a fresh and original sound that only helps to expands our individual taste and expand the breadth of music as a whole.
This morning we woke up to an unexpected gift: London producer JD. Reid’s Tree – a 15-song stew mixed of a long and impressive list of features across the British hip-hop, grime, and R&B multiverse and brought together with the silky-smooth broth of Reid’s production genius. It’s a tremendous achievement that not only exhibits the unparalleled talent of the current UK scene, but does so in a way that doesn’t take away from the cohesion and creative direction of the album as a whole.
To say the entire project is worth your time would be a tremendous understatement. Instead, it’s likely to become a staple in your library and will undoubtedly remain a contender throughout the year as the most impressive album in all of 2018.
