Damen, the debut EP by Australian new-age artist James Chatburn, is one of the most versatile and strong releases of the past couple months. Chatburn’s talents are those possessed only by a special breed of creator. A wide-ranging and versatile voice that elicits an emotional response from any listener strains and echoes harmoniously overtop acoustic guitar strums and subtle electronic production. Clearly inspired by fellow Aussie, Nick Murphy, the two artists share a similar delivery and probably a similar audience consisting of fans from across the musical spectrum – electronic, rock, R&B, and soul.

 

We’re excited to see what’s to come in Chatburn’s future, and if it is anything like Damen, we’ll soon be seeing the young man’s name everywhere.
