The big names are taking some seriously experimental risks these days. While A$AP Rocky has been feeding us with a slew of under-produced, barebones singles in the lead up to his upcoming album, British vocalist and producer, James Blake, reappeared with his first solo release since 2016 in an experimental direction opposite. If The Car Besides You Moves Ahead is a bold, mind-fuck of a song with visuals to match. It’s an unsettling, dark, and broken track made up of heavy, glitchy production, haunting vocals, and apocalyptic thematics, while the video acts as a catalyst to take it to a truly avant-garde level.

 

Artistic to say the least, James Blake and other stars in the music industry seem to be pushing for heavy change and are willing to make the necessarily shocking decisions to get there.
