Hugh Augustine set his own bar pretty damn high with the four singles he released leading up to anticipated album, Dubious, but it’s clear that Augustine had plenty of gas left in the tank to keep a firestorm alive for all 46 minutes of its run time. The project comes as his first full-length since 2015, but time seems to be on the side of Augustine who has used it to master his effortless flow and laid-back vibes.

Dubious is a clean exhibition of his uniquely Los Angeles aesthetic that puts on display for all to hear his mastery for blending classic West Coast production techniques heavy with synthesizers and auto-tuned highlights with his knack for storytelling, hypnotizing hooks, and one-of-a-kind bars.

It’s a must-listen for any fan of West Coast hip-hop that is sure to become a staple of the subset for years to come.
