Curren$y Continues the Jet Life Collaborative Rollout with Power

New Orleans legend, Curren$y is – much like he’s been for the entirety of his long career – prolific. A product of the mixtape era, he has to his name something like a dozen full-length projects and an innumerable collection of singles. Many of his career’s hits are staples of the Southern hip-hop tradition and his collaborative presence is unmatched. 2019 has been no deviation from his worth ethic. Power is his latest single, eighth of the year, and third collaborative track with fellow Jet Life lyricists, Trademark Da Skydiver and Young Roddy. It’s also an undeniable hit.

Power rides a hypnotic, low-fidelity beat with a signature to the South amount of bass, setting the stage for the three very different rappers to juxtapose and complement one another through an equal share of verse-time. It seems like something is in the works for both Curren$y and the Jet Life collaborative track, and knwing their work ethic, more is likely on the way very, very soon.
