The last time we covered a Billy Lemos release, the emerging talent had just given us Burb, a dualist, aggressively postured take on the burgeoning mellow pop scene. It displayed his wide berth of influences that extend from lighthearted DIY production and vocalism to a modernist, left-of-center approach to hip-hop. With his new single, Rain, Lemos shows us a new tier of his creative spectrum.

Primed with sunshiny guitar and up-tempo patterning, Lemos gives the world a taste of his brighter side, and more importantly, gives Kopano – Rain’s vocal feature – the space necessary to exhibit her neo-café style, brimming with quick cadence, soothing delivery, and intriguingly penned poetry.

Rain comes to finalization a calming yet energizing track best applied to shading ‘neath palm trees and absorbing the summer vibes. It also comes to us at the earmark of an exciting new chapter in the young multi-dimensionalist’s quickly pacing career.

Best of luck, Bemos. We can’t wait to hear what’s to come.
