Monte Booker & Bari Team up for Otherworldly interstellar
Evan Dale // Feb 3, 2019
If there are two teams placarding their greatness onto 2019 so far, they’re the young generation of London creatives and the Zero Fatigue crew of Chicago. Both have had explosive starts to the year, bombarding us with a barrage of innovative, experimental releases that have come to quickly shape 2019 as a year that is especially artistic. Over the span of a couple days, the Smino and Ravyn Lenae’s acclaimed Zero Fatigue collective has dominated with a spearheading effort by their heir apparent, St. Louis rapper, Bari. Coupled with the delivery of his debut album also comes a 2-take / 1-track mix by Monte Booker.
The producer has become one of the more mysterious figures in modern soundscape design, quietly finding his place behind some of the most experimental and innovative work of the past couple years and completely disappearing in the interim. So, when blessed with another Monte Booker track, it’s important to take notice. interstellar which features Bari on vocals, lives up to both of their bizarre, entrancing catalogues and also lives up to its name. Driven by otherworldly production, Bari brings his own alien spin to the track, resulting in a sonic experience the likes of which could seemingly only come by way of the two artists at hand.
