Christina Aguilera, GoldLink, and Anderson .Paak? Though the latter two have collaborated in the past on GoldLink’s breakout project, And After That We Didn’t Talk, the trio is ultimately unexpected. But now that we have their collaboration, Like I Do, it brings a few things to light.

  2. GoldLink continues to be one of the most underappreciated talents in the world of hip-hop – able to seamlessly collaborate with a wider breadth of artistry than just about anyone else in modern music. 

 

  3. Anderson .Paak continues to prove himself as one of the most varied and transcendental artists alive who, on his current path and boasting his many talents, will one day find himself in the company of multi-dimensional music gods like Prince and D’Angelo.

 

Like I Do’s bubbly, electronic undertone bursting of complex chords, upbeat whistles, and ghostly mixing very much reflective of the production driving GoldLink’s aforementioned breakout album, is entirely orchestrated by .Paak who, on a bit of a roll lately, is working towards his much-anticipated 2018 project. 

 

GoldLink leads the track off with an expectedly challenging verse brimming with cadence shifts, poetic lyricism, and his signature blend of rap vocalism. 

 

Christina Aguilera, in ways we’ve seen with previous GoldLink / pop star collaborations, brings the heat pushing the boundaries of her musicality far past anything resembling a radio pop hit, and into the bold realm of electronic R&B experimentation.
