Here’s a project worth being excited about. Young New Orleans artist, Pell started releasing music several years ago but has left fans consistently awaiting a more cohesive, large-scale project since the release of his last album, Floating While Dreaming, in 2014. Always noted for his high energy and meaningful lyricism, his new EP Girasoul builds upon his existing reputation and thanks to his vocal ability, has a reminiscent vibe of an early Kid Cudi or Chance the Rapper.

 

Girasoul boasts features from electro-pop superstar Vérité and progressive hip-hop genius Saba whose contributions provide the project with more depth and compliment Pell’s lightning-fast word play and bouncy production. It may prove to be exactly what Pell needs to regain a firm grasp on the hip-hop scene and will hopefully become the foundation for more consistent future projects.
